Privacy policy
SmartCard is run by Smart Biz Tech Pty Ltd, Australia. This page explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Businesses that use SmartCard: business details, logo and wording for their page and cards; each team member's name, title, contact details and photo; logins (email address, and a one-way hash of the password); billing references (card details are held by Stripe, not by us).
- Visitors to a SmartCard page: what you type into a contact form or a chat with the page's assistant, and the assistant's replies; pages opened, device type, where the visit came from, and a one-way hash of your network address (never the address itself). Contact details on a card are only revealed when you tap them.
- People signing up: what you tell our assistant to set up your page, and your payment through Stripe.
Why
To run your SmartCard page and cards, to pass your message to the business you contacted, to answer your questions through the assistant, to bill subscriptions, and to show businesses how their page is used. We do not sell personal information.
Who processes it for us
Our hosting service (Abacus.AI) and the AI service that writes the assistant's replies; Stripe (payments); Short.io (short links and scan counts, where a business uses them); and our email service. Some of these store data outside Australia.
How long we keep it
For as long as the business's SmartCard account is open. A business owner can download all of their business's data, or ask for the account to be deleted, under Settings → Privacy.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete personal information about you, or to make a complaint, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
